AI Research Engineer

Job description

Sarj.ai is hiring an AI Research Engineer for its Engineering team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on building and scaling speech and Voice AI technology, including training and improving speech-to-text and text-to-speech models, developing machine-learning pipelines, and bringing models into production. The engineer will collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to ship AI-powered features for real-world voice and agent applications.

Responsibilities

• Train large-scale speech models for speech-to-text (STT) and text-to-speech (TTS) applications.
• Work with modern speech architectures and move models from research into production.
• Build and maintain machine-learning training pipelines for real-time voice processing.
• Develop evaluation frameworks and improve model quality and performance.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ship AI-powered features.
• Support scaling and productionisation of Sarj.ai speech and Voice AI systems.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience working with machine learning in production.
• Strong Python skills.
• Strong experience with PyTorch or PyTorch Lightning.
• Solid understanding of deep-learning fundamentals.
• Experience with large-scale or distributed model training.
• Experience with speech or audio machine learning is a strong advantage.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform services such as Vertex AI, Cloud Run and BigQuery.
