Job description

Metal is hiring a Data Analyst for a full-time, on-site role in Lahore, Pakistan. Metal is an AI-powered operating system for founders raising venture rounds. The Data Analyst will own a core data domain end-to-end, keeping it accurate, complete, fresh, and trustworthy while building repeatable checks, workflows, and quality systems as the platform scales.

Responsibilities

  • Triage, investigate, and resolve data issues quickly, then address root causes so problems do not repeatedly return.
  • Identify gaps in data coverage and drive initiatives to close them.
  • Review and validate data from third-party providers, flag regressions, and recommend improvements or additional fields to ingest.
  • Design and run quality checks, audits, and lightweight QA frameworks that make data quality scalable and repeatable.
  • Propose and test new high-signal data points or metrics that improve product value and user trust.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to improve data pipelines, internal tooling, and workflows.
  • Track and communicate weekly and monthly progress on data quality, coverage, and improvements within the owned domain.
  • Grow from hands-on data-quality operations into designing automations, QA frameworks, new data signals, and broader systems behind data trust.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent demonstrated ability.
  • Strong analytical thinking and comfort working with structured information, ambiguity, and incomplete data.
  • High attention to detail and a strong commitment to correctness, consistency, and trust.
  • Evidence of execution through projects, internships, research, side projects, student-organization leadership, or other independently delivered outcomes.
  • Comfort working with spreadsheets and/or basic data tools, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Strong ownership: ability to notice issues, take responsibility for outcomes, and drive problems through resolution.
  • Structured problem solving with a focus on root causes rather than surface-level fixes.
  • Bias toward action and ability to make informed progress without waiting for perfect information.
  • Clear written and verbal communication with both technical and non-technical teammates.
