Job description
Chainalysis is hiring a Deployment Strategist for its Customer Outcomes team in Johannesburg, South Africa. The role owns pre- and post-sale relationships for strategic accounts across West and Southern Africa, helping financial institutions, crypto businesses, regulators and law-enforcement customers turn blockchain intelligence into operational capability. The Deployment Strategist leads deployments, drives product adoption, advises customer stakeholders and translates compliance and investigative workflows into practical platform solutions.
Responsibilities
- Own onboarding and deployment for strategic accounts and build adoption plans with clear success criteria.
- Advise compliance, investigations and executive stakeholders as the primary technical point of contact.
- Deliver product training, workshops and enablement that help users become confident daily users.
- Translate customer workflows and pain points into solution designs, integrations and platform configurations.
- Monitor usage and engagement trends to identify expansion opportunities and early churn risk.
- Partner with Sales on renewals, account expansion and customer strategy.
- Collaborate with Support, Product and Engineering to resolve escalations and provide structured field feedback.
- Represent Chainalysis at industry events, customer forums and conferences across the region.
- Contribute to team playbooks and documentation that improve and scale customer delivery.
Requirements
- 5+ years in customer-facing roles at a high-growth technology company, such as customer success, solutions architecture, presales, technical account management or enterprise consulting.
- Track record of owning enterprise accounts and managing senior and executive stakeholders through complex, multi-month deployments.
- Working knowledge of cryptocurrency and blockchain, including transactions, wallets, exchanges and stablecoins.
- Understanding of how blockchain technology intersects with AML, compliance and investigative workflows.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Professional fluency in English.
- Comfort with technical concepts such as APIs, data analysis and logic-based workflows, with and without AI agents.
- Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment with a high degree of ownership.
- Applicants must be based in or willing to locate to Johannesburg.
