Job description

Tremendous is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for a full-time remote role in Brazil. Tremendous operates a global payouts platform used by businesses to send gift cards and money to recipients around the world. The engineering role is full-stack and owns product work end-to-end, from scoping and architecture through coding, testing, rollout, and iteration.

Responsibilities

  • Own product-feature development end-to-end, including scoping, architecture, coding, testing, and rollout.
  • Work closely with engineers and designers to develop solutions to customer and user problems.
  • Contribute across the full technology stack, including frontend, backend, and supporting systems.
  • Improve developer productivity through process improvements, code improvements, and mentorship.
  • Work effectively on a distributed, remote team.
  • Take autonomous ownership of work rather than depending on detailed task breakdowns or constant direction.
  • Contribute to a documentation-first engineering culture through clear written communication.

Requirements

  • Experience building complex web products end-to-end.
  • Strong full-stack engineering capability across frontend, backend, and related systems.
  • Proficiency with Ruby on Rails.
  • Proficiency with React or a similar JavaScript-based frontend framework.
  • Strong written communication skills for a documentation-first work environment.
  • Ability and willingness to work autonomously and drive projects forward.
  • High empathy for teammates and users.
  • Comfort collaborating in a fully distributed remote engineering organization.
