Global Controller is a contract role with Customer.io, based in Americas Remote. The position contributes to the employer's work through the function described in the vacancy, with day-to-day focus on </p> <h3>About the role</h3> <p>Hi, my name is Diep N, VP, Finance at <a href="http://customer.io/">Customer.io</a>, and I'm looking for a Global Controller to take the close, the books, and our control environment and make them theirs.</p> <p>We're a global, remote-first, private company built on subscription and usage-based revenue, and as we grow we need a controller who can lead the team already in place and sharpen the fundamentals. You'll lead a team of ~7, growing, across revenue accounting, close, AP/AR, payroll, and treasury, and partner closely with me and, given our CFO's broad remit, with stakeholders across Sales, Legal, IT, HR, and Engineering.</p> <h3>What you'll do</h3> <ul> <li>Lead monthly and quarterly close, GL, AP/AR, payroll, and account reconciliations, delivering accurate, timely US GAAP financials. Close currently runs ~10 business days; get us to 6-8 days within your first 12 months, with fewer post-close adjustments and aged reconciliations.</li> <li>Own revenue accounting and serve as our technical accounting authority on subscription and usage-based revenue recognition (ASC 606), including the ARR-to-GAAP bridge: reconciling ARR, billings, deferred revenue, contract assets, and usage true-ups to reported revenue, and explaining the delta to leadership and the board in plain terms.</li> <li>Author technical accounting position memos on contract modifications, SSP allocation, variable consideration, and capitalized contract costs, the work that makes "technical accounting authority" real.</li> <li>Own equity compensation accounting (ASC 718): grant accuracy, 409A timing, expense, modifications,
