PointClickCare is hiring a Manager Software Engineering for a full-time remote role in the United States. Reporting to a Senior Manager of Engineering, this leader will guide multiple Agile teams, own technical design and architecture decisions, drive delivery from concept through post-launch, and align engineering execution with customer needs and business priorities. The role also emphasizes operational excellence and an AI-first engineering culture.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor cross-functional teams of software developers.
- Champion an AI-first culture and encourage teams to experiment with and adopt AI capabilities that improve product performance and engineering efficiency.
- Drive end-to-end software delivery using Agile methodologies.
- Own technical design and architecture decisions in collaboration with engineering and business stakeholders.
- Ensure high-quality releases through strong process management and technical oversight.
- Partner with product managers to align engineering work with user needs and business priorities.
- Continuously improve team performance, team structure, engineering practices, and delivery effectiveness.
- Lead operational-excellence efforts to strengthen customer supportability and reduce risk to patient outcomes.
- Maintain strong knowledge of PointClickCare products, industry developments, technology trends, and business context.
- Communicate effectively with customers and maintain professional, trusted relationships.
Requirements
- 5-10 years of software-development experience.
- Most recent experience as a Development Manager or Team Lead.
- Proven experience leading software-development teams and delivering enterprise applications.
- Strong background in Java, Python, Spring, SQL, and web technologies.
- Deep understanding of Agile development practices and the software-development life cycle.
- Experience with requirements gathering, analysis and design, development, release/version control, and deployment management.
- Experience with Java web applications, Servlets, Servlet Filters, JSP, JSTL, and JDBC.
- Experience with Spring Framework 3.x or higher, including Spring MVC.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
- Working experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, web-service platforms, and object-oriented programming principles.
- Deep understanding of enterprise software design.
- Strong leadership, troubleshooting, problem-solving, collaboration, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
- Experience leveraging AI technologies and frameworks to deliver software solutions.
