Job description

Riot Games is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Hextech Gameplay team in Sydney. The team develops engine technologies and tools that help League of Legends engineers and designers create gameplay experiences. The role involves designing, building, testing, documenting, and maintaining reliable software systems; resolving issues in live environments and development pipelines; participating in code review and on-call work; and collaborating with design, product, production, and engineering partners. The posting seeks professional software-development experience, C++ proficiency, knowledge of software-engineering fundamentals, and the ability to work across disciplines. Familiarity with multiplayer systems, content or build pipelines, game engines, version control, and iterative delivery is also identified. The role is explicitly full-time and Sydney-based. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a comparable field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years experience in professional software development
  • 3+ years of professional experience and proficiency with C++
  • Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, concurrency, etc.)
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating across disciplines
  • Knowledge of multiplayer systems, content pipelines, telemetry, or build systems
  • Experience developing within any game engines
  • Experience with perforce and/or github version control systems
  • Experience in Agile processes and continuous delivery
  • Experience in translating user feedback into technical solutions
