Job description

Entrata is hiring a Software Engineer for a full-time, hybrid role in Pune, India. The position sits within Research and Development / Software Development and covers both back-end and front-end engineering. The engineer will work with senior architects, development managers, UX, product managers, and offshore teams to design database schemas, establish code architecture, and deliver product improvements through completion.

Responsibilities

  • Solve technical problems in collaboration with Development Managers, UX, Product Managers, and offshore teams.
  • Design high-performance database schemas and code architecture for products.
  • Enable offshore teams to deliver stable, high-performing, and reliable code through frequent collaboration.
  • Review and correct product code for quality, design, and maintainability.
  • Maintain database queries and write scalable SQL.
  • Contribute across all phases of the software-development lifecycle, including both back-end and front-end work.
  • Participate in and advocate for Agile and Scrum practices.
  • Prepare and produce releases of software components.
  • Support high-traffic website operations and proactively maintain performance and reliability.
  • Build interfaces and improve existing functionality and application logic.
  • Apply industry trends and development best practices to improve client and internal projects.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of software-development experience.
  • PHP experience is preferred.
  • Experience working with web-based applications and development processes.
  • Strong SQL and database knowledge.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset and willingness to standardize code and architecture.
  • Demonstrable experience using AI-powered development tools such as Cursor AI, GitHub Copilot, or Claude Code.
