Job description

Educative Inc is hiring a Software Engineer (Entry-level) for a full-time, on-site role in Lahore, Pakistan. The engineer will help build Educative's interactive learning platform for software developers, working across design, development, testing, and launch activities with engineering and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Write high-quality, maintainable, and reusable code using sound software-engineering principles.
  • Clarify technical requirements, develop coding estimates, and apply appropriate design approaches to solve product problems.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback to teammates.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in software quality, customer experience, and product maintainability.
  • Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to imagine, design, develop, test, and launch features.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of assigned deliverables and contribute to engineering excellence.

Requirements

  • BS
  • MS
  • or PhD in Computer Science.
  • Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms.
  • Good knowledge of multithreading.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or another relevant language.
  • Working knowledge of Git.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables.
  • Self-driven, collaborative, and able to communicate effectively within a team.
  • Strong focus on delivering high-quality product features.
  • Nice to Have / Technology Environment
  • Google App Engine and Google Cloud.
  • Python and Node.js for production-quality products.
  • React, Redux, or React Native.
  • TypeScript, Next.js, and Tailwind CSS.
  • Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Low-level systems knowledge and familiarity with the Linux networking stack.
  • AWS experience.
