# Software Engineer Microsoft is hiring a Software Engineer to join its Windows Silicon & Systems Integration organization in Dublin, Ireland. The team works on technology that helps maintain Windows quality and application compatibility across a wide range of devices and processor architectures, including modern PCs and gaming hardware. In this role, the engineer will develop software and automation used to detect regressions before changes enter the Windows operating-system codebase. The work combines software engineering, automated testing, data analysis and emerging AI technologies. The engineer will also contribute to Microsoft's internal automation framework, improve how engineers create and maintain test content, and explore AI-assisted solutions that make testing and compatibility analysis more effective. The position involves collaboration with engineering teams in multiple global locations, including Dublin, Redmond and Nairobi, to investigate and resolve Windows compatibility issues. Applicants should have a strong software-development foundation and experience programming in one or more languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript or Python. This is a hybrid role based in Dublin, with Microsoft currently stating an expectation of three days per week in the office. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience
- Professional coding experience in one or more modern programming languages
- Experience with C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, or comparable languages
- Strong software engineering fundamentals
- Ability to design and develop reliable engineering tools and solutions
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with ambiguous technical problems
- Ability to collaborate with engineering teams across multiple locations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Interest in software quality and customer experience
- Ability to contribute to automated testing and engineering frameworks
- Experience with AI-based software solutions is preferred
- Interest in data analytics and AI-assisted engineering is preferred
