Job description
Coder is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for its AI Governance team in a full-time remote role across the United States. The team builds enterprise-grade infrastructure for governing AI-assisted and autonomous developer workflows. Key products include an AI Gateway that centralizes LLM access, audit trails, token tracking, cost controls, and authentication, along with an Agent Firewall that applies default-deny network policies to coding agents.
Responsibilities
- Design and build product features for secure remote-development and AI-governance environments.
- Build and improve open-source projects that integrate with developer tools such as VS Code and JetBrains.
- Work across the full stack, including Go backend services and React / TypeScript frontend applications.
- Integrate with LLM-provider APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and related AI infrastructure.
- Harden security boundaries for enterprise AI-agent workflows.
- Collaborate with Product and Design teams as well as external partners on product integrations.
- Document system design, implementation, and operations for internal knowledge sharing.
- Support enterprise customers in partnership with Customer Success teams.
- Rapidly iterate from prototype to production implementation in a fast-moving engineering environment.
- Contribute engineering best practices to internal teams and external open-source contributors.
Requirements
- 8+ years of full-stack professional software-development experience.
- 1+ year of professional Go experience, ideally in the candidate's current or most recent role.
- Strong proficiency building distributed systems in Go.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional debugging and troubleshooting skills with persistence in driving issues to resolution.
- Self-motivated, creative, and analytical approach to engineering problems.
- Experience with TypeScript and React is beneficial.
- Background in developer tooling, platform engineering, or Infrastructure as Code is beneficial.
- Interest in AI/LLM technologies and modern developer-infrastructure trends is beneficial.
